To create the "Pen Walking" paintings, SHI uses one or multiple pencils, adhering the pencil shavings to paper upon completion. These shavings symbolize the remnants of a life concluded, while the spent pencils represent life's endless, often unpredictable cycle. The marks left by the pen are akin to life's deeds, and the pencil's exhaustion, the destiny of the human flesh. Each pencil represents a cycle of life, and a panoramic view of one's existence leads to a sigh of existential emptiness: "No matter what, it all comes down to this."
