Art Basel Hong Kong 2026: Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre

Mind Set Art Center will present Shi Jin-Hua’s works at Art Basel Hong Kong, featuring both the Pen Walking and Oil and Tube Series.

As a foundational pillar of his practice, the Pen Walking series uses a pencil's life to symbolize the brevity and emptiness of existence, contemplating the perpetual cycles of death and rebirth. The Oil and Tube series grows from the same conceptual ground, drawing inspiration from Alberto Giacometti’s meditations on human solitude and the human condition.　

Through spent paint tubes, pencil remnants, and figural forms, Shi transforms traces of life and the exhaustion of the body into a quiet yet profound inquiry into the presence and absence of the soul.
