The 9th Taishin Arts Award: Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts
Established in 2002 by the Taishin Bank Foundation for Arts and Culture, the Taishin Arts Award is the first award in Taiwan intended to encourage both performing arts and visual arts. The prize money of one million NT dollars for each winner makes this award an annual major event for contemporary artists in Taiwan. Its strict review and selection process consists of observation, nomination, evaluation, and critiques by professional jurors.
Featuring 15 finalists selected from nearly 1,000 exhibitions and performances in 2010 for their diversified and innovative styles, this exhibition demonstrates all the unique facets of Taiwan's contemporary arts.
