“Mount Kailash” is located in Tibet, China. Many Buddhists consider it the home for Vairocana (the celestial Buddha). Many Buddhists would walk around the mountain as a way of cleansing themselves of their sins. Shi Jin-Hua’s pencils, just like the Buddhists, tour Mount Kailash in their pilgrimage. The pieces of pencil debris are like the flesh bodies who kneel down on the road to the mountain, inching towards their refuge.
