"The Possibility of a New
Relationship Between Text and Painting"

I want to attempt a work that explores a relationship
between text and painting that differs from traditional literati art. My aim is
to try and make textual writing and literature something that can be used and
appreciated daily in life and art. Originally, in the literati tradition,
poetry, calligraphy, and painting were integrated within one person. The
current situation, due to changes in systems and the establishment and
influence of Western cultural and educational systems, has separated them into
different artistic fields such as literature, calligraphy, and painting, where
they are withering. In the past, literati painting generally involved
completing the painting first, followed by a calligraphic inscription. I,
however, want to use an approach similar to sketching, allowing text and painting
to mutually influence and respond to each other, conceiving, developing,
adjusting, and completing the work together. If successful, I believe there
will be some lyrical and improvisational works that can have a dialogue and
connection with my own life and being.
