“Seven Words Mantra” inherits the concept of the artist's "Pen Walking" series and the inspiration from their long-term study of Buddhism. Using a single pencil, the seven characters of "Namo Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva" (南無地藏王菩薩) are continuously written on paper. The wood shavings produced during this process are adhered and connected between the written characters until the pencil becomes too short to hold and write with. The remaining pencil shavings are collected in a glass bottle. During the exhibition, these wood shavings will be ignited with Bhaisajyaguru (Medicine Buddha) purification incense, transforming the original form into wisps of smoke. Afterward, the ashes will be collected in the glass bottle, completing the practice of offering to compassionate intention.
