30 Years of the Kaohsiung Award: The Unfinished and Renewed Journey of Art: Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts
Organized by the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, 30 Years of the Kaohsiung Award: The Unfinished and Renewed Journey of Art traces the development of the Kaohsiung Award over the past three decades within the context of Taiwan’s contemporary art. Structured around three decades, the exhibition presents how artistic practices have transformed and responded to changing historical conditions.
Shi Jin-Hua’s work is featured in Chapter II, Fluid Boundaries (2007–2016). This phase corresponds to a shift in artistic practices shaped by digital technology and globalization, emphasizing conceptual approaches, interdisciplinary engagement, and the unfolding of artistic processes. Centering on the body and temporality, Shi Jin-Hua’s long-term practice explores the boundaries of perception, existence, and viewing through repetition, discipline, and everyday actions. His work resonates with this period’s reconsideration of the nature and methodology of art.
Rather than simply revisiting past award-winning works, the exhibition brings together different generations in dialogue, presenting art as an ongoing and open-ended process of becoming, while preserving multiple possibilities for future imagination.
